Online Associate in Arts degree

Black Hawk College has a wide selection of hybrid and online classes and now offers an Online Associate in Arts degree that can be completed 100% online!

Courses in our new Online AA degree program don’t require students to use testing centers or come to campus for any portion. These courses are highly structured and involve frequent online interactions with your instructor and classmates.

Hybrid and Other Online Classes

Students also can take a combination of online classes and in-person classes to earn their traditional degree or certificate. Speak to an advisor to see which combination is right for you!

Types of Classes

  • Hybrid – Courses have 50% of the course instruction in-person in a classroom. The remaining time involves activities like fieldwork, field trips and extended projects.
  • In Person – Courses are taught in a traditional classroom setting.
  • Online Blended – Courses are taught primarily online, but may require proctored exams and quizzes in-person or special projects like giving a speech to a group of people.
  • Online Completely – Courses, exams and projects are completed 100% online.
